BEFORE I DIE……

May 18 - May 20
Penola Town Square, 38 Young Street
Penola, SA 5277 Australia
+ Google Map
Free

Before I Die is a global art project that invites people to reflect on their lives. We are erecting a wall in Penola for the Arts Festival. Come to the centre of town, grab a coffee and write… " what YOU want to do before you die…". Today there are over 2,000 walls around the world across 76 countries. Each wall is created by local residents who want to make a space in their community to restore perspective and share more with one another. Each wall is a tribute to living an examined life. Artist Candy Chang and writer James A. Reeves have developed this project to examine our common anxieties, contemplate mortality, and better understand what it means to be human.

Patrick Of Coonawarra, Riddoch Highway
Coonawarra, SA 5263 Australia
+ Google Map
Free

Mindfulness meets HEAPS of paint and a Giant Wall – A call out to all non-artist-artists to leave their mark and let go. At Patrick we are erecting a giant wall. On the floor there will be lots of paint. Come to the wall, pick up a paint brush and paint until you can't paint any longer. Your art will evolve and be covered up by other non-artist-artists, and you in turn can evolve and cover someone else's. Free your creative spirit, without judgment or worry that it has to be perfect…There is no such thing. We invite everyone of all ages to leave their mark on this wall. This wall is for anyone that remembers how amazing art was at school, but hasn't touched a paint brush since; It's for those that are busy with life and never have the time to be creative, " because being creative doesn't pay the bills "; For those that don't start a new task or a project because before they even commence are already worried about it having to be perfect; And importantly we want the children to come and be our guides in this project too, for them to do exactly…
